Tuxedo guide

Wedding shopping can be a daunting prospect. Settings! Decisions! More decisions! Usually, the bride assumes most of the responsibility and therefore the seemingly endless and overwhelming parade of swatches, sticky notes, phone calls and Advil. It can be extremely difficult to find answers to all questions, which is why I offer my help. I have worked in the bridal industry for years, mainly in formal tuxedo clothing, and I would like to take a step-by-step how to make a rental order for a little easier.

First question before buying a tuxedo

o Discuss what you imagine. Is it possible that I have very different ideas of what the ideal tuxedo will look like? If you disagree, you must reach a reasonable compromise before arriving at the store. Continuing the discussion in front of the seller can be somewhat awkward.

o Do you know what color bridesmaid dresses will be? If so, bring a swatch. The fact that the dress is labeled as celadon does not mean that the celadon vest you see matches.

Note: A swatch is a lifeguard, take it to all your important decision making involving your color scheme. The color may be quite dense, but it may look horrible on the pictures if not quite accurate. As overwhelming as it may seem, all color combinations for each part of the wedding must be performed simultaneously. The color of the dress may be perfect with the flowers, but it will not match the chair covers and none of them will match the vests. The color selection varies from one element to another and most often it does not overlap. Making a final decision just to have it changed three weeks later because it was impossible to combine it with anything else is not a headache that you should bear.

The steps

1. Make an appointment with a color and style combination request. It's fine if you need some time to think about it, but please don't let the consultant write styles and names if you're not 100% sure to stay at that rental store. If you still plan to act, be honest, you may even get an extra discount as an incentive to stay.

2. Once you have decided, make sure you have all the information ready; what are the names, what will their position be (i.e. groomsmen, usher, etc.) and who will use what. The final decision can be made as soon as you like, but it should be at least three months before the wedding tux rental.

3. Assuming that all the grooms have already been asked and accepted to be at the wedding (don't laugh, the bride and groom will postpone this sort of thing for months if not kept under control), they should start getting into the store to measure yourself. All accessories must be completed by the date specified by the rental facility. Some may be as soon as two months before or as late as two weeks before the wedding. Stay on top of these guys! Most people will probably forget or postpone it until the day before the deadline. This deadline is there for your protection to make sure all styles of the colors you want are available in the sizes of your groomsmen.
