Student housing in Sheffield
Sheffield has one of the most prosperous students in the UK and attracts thousands of new students each year. The rich culture and broad entertainment has and always will be a strong boost for all students. The city also has two of the best universities in the United Kingdom, Sheffield University and Sheffield Hallam University, located on opposite sides of the city. Each of them has a solid history and organizes regular competitions between students, both sports and academics, for a great university experience.
Sheffield has many excellent bars and restaurants, and most of these are located in a compact area, making it easy to move at night. It also saves you a significant amount in taxis compared to other cities. One of the most popular areas for students is West Street, which has a huge selection of bars, restaurants and more fancy cocktail bars if your student loan has just arrived. Sheffield also has a vibrant gastronomic scene, and there are many hidden gems scattered throughout the city waiting for their taste buds to be filled with water! Whatever you fancy, you will never be more than a short walk or bus ride to a great meal. One thing you will definitely learn if you choose to come to Sheffield is that the Norwegians like their food the large size, so they expect to find very high burgers and large portions of french fries from anywhere one takes out. Finally, Sheffield United has a great culture and some of the UK's biggest bands come from Sheffield, including Artic Monkeys, Bring me the Horizon, Pulp and The Pigeon Detectives. You will find that something always happens in Sheffield, so you certainly won't be bored while staying here!
Another benefit of Sheffield is the financial prices of students, making it one of the most affordable places to go to college in the UK. There is plenty of accommodation for students to choose from, but the two most advantageous areas are Broom Hill and Crookes. This is because both are located near the universities and have many shops and local bars to visit. However, the undisputed favorite is Ecclesall Road or 'Eccey road' for the locals. Known as the Golden Mile of Sheffield, it has a rich coffee culture and seems to be an endless path of bars and restaurants.
